Advice needed on mixing tiles in the bathroom
Comments (5)Good morning stroalki. There's no hard and fast "rule" to tiling selections. there simply has to be a certain cohesiveness to it all. Take a look at this bath I just finished. It looks alittle "much" in the pic, but really all works when your in it. So my advice would be get samples of the tile you want to use, and let the Pros here at Houzz helpyou tie it all together. Good Luck! and Have Fun!...See MoreBathroom tile -can you mix real and porcelain effect marble?
Comments (6)Thanks that was helpful and your Denver project looks great! We were thinking of using a herringbone 2x5" or 2"hexagon calacatta mosaic on the bathroom floor with larger format (18x30ish) porcelain marble effect tiles on the wall. Great pointer about tile depth! I actually have a question about your Denver project as we're considering to use a freestanding bath vs. inset bath in a similar layout (bath and shower sharing a wall). Not sure if I have enough space for a freestanding bath and wondered how close the freestanding bath should be offset from the walls? I might only have a couple spare inches on each short side and a bit more behind the bath for taps. Don't want it to look squeezed in!...See MoreMetal Bathroom Splashbacks
Comments (1)Any particular reason you want to use metal? Water and metal will not last long. How about toughened glass? You can have any colour you want as they spray the back of the glass. Kent Blaxill, we have depots in Ipswich and Colchester ( there may be other depots) will measure, even sort out any cut outs, spray, toughen and fit. We had them for our kitchen splash backs and are highly delighted....See MoreMixing bathroom accessories
Comments (3)I think Black and Chrome work really well together. Hooks are not very big and depending on how you hang towels etc. they might be hidden anyway...go for it :-)...See Moreminnie101
