Terrace Upgrade (before and after)
Comments (35)Always a no to fake grass from me. it would cheapen the effect you have created so much. It always looks tacky. Some more plants would look great. Evergreen agapanthus would give year round green with beautiful spikes of purple flowers in the summer 😊...See MoreBefore and After Conservatory
Comments (21)The layout is much better but it's a bit busy for me. I'd have fewer formal accessories (such as cushions and the plant and photo on the window sill seem out of place to me) and fewer bits and pieces overall. I'd put something much bigger on the wall behind the sofa or have many more pictures on it, adding them around what there is already. And I agree that the rug could be bigger....See MoreAwful conservatory to a slightly less awful conservatory
Comments (18)Good shout - BUT if I was going to spend any money on that complete waste of space I would brick-up some of the windows, put some sort of hipped-roof on it, insulate it, and turn it into an actual usable space. It will now stay as it is for the foreseeable future and the doors will remain permanently shut with it not being used again for 7 months (April/May'ish) time for a couple of days before its gets too hot. This is the single thing I hate most about our house, it's frustrating as it's such a dead space. I even hate it more than the bidet in one of the bathrooms which wastes space and is pointless (apart from my 4 year old using it once to wash her hands as she thought that it was a childs sink)...See MoreOur Lounge Before/ After
Comments (13)Thank you minnie101, I did have a keyboard behind the door in the lounge which was taking up a bit of the room available to the single chair to the right of the fireplace, but that has now gone so I can shift the cream sofa up a bit, however I can't really move it too much as it looks funny when it's not central to the window, and same with the brown sofa against the panelled wall. Maybe it's just me being too picky but it makes my skin crawl a bit if it's "out"! :D When we first moved in and were trying to fit our furniture in I tried multiple layouts and so far this is the one that works best for me, and I would prefer to keep all the lounge furniture together, although I have looked at maybe getting something for the bedroom, but so far nothing has jumped out at me, and I'm afraid things really do have to scream before i buy them!! :) I fully agree with your suggestion of a lamp, although the spots are dimmable it definitely needs a lamp too. And thank you for your suggestion of a throw, I hadn't thought of that I will keep a look out for the right one. I like the pic you included of the mirror on the chimney breast, I hadn't thought much about doing it that way round as I had been thinking of putting art on the chimney breast and mirrors in the alcoves and moving the letters somewhere else, maybe getting a table/shelf/ bookcase or something. You've definitely given me food for thought....See MorePatrina
