Mirrors anywhere are great, as long as you are tidy ... any mess is doubled up instantly ! Yes the hob looks too close to the tall cabinet - and if there’s wall to left of sink - it’s a bit close to that too ( think elbow room)

I am building a small but stylish (I hope) kitchenette alcove using Naked Kitchen cabinets and a corian worktop with integrated sink. I want to run a copper or mirrored worktop around the alcove which will have to incorporate slots for electric sockets. Does anyone have ideas for good outlets? We're in London. Thanks!

The units above your sink and your hob will nicely frame slabs of granite/ matching countertop material. I would go with that instead of mirror. Although it won’t reflect light like mirror, it provides a more restful look in a busy kitchen. I’ve had success temporarily “trying out” backsplash ideas using removable peel and stick wallpaper, similar to how you might try out paint using tester pots. Here is one in a marble look https://www.wallpops.co.uk/collections/home-nuwallpaper/products/carrara-marble-grey-peel-and-stick-wallpaper You can probably also find something similar in a mirror finish.
