Help with small en suite bathroom layout
Comments (63)We have been playing around with this today and this is the layout we think we will go with. Due to solid floors and walls if we move the loo we need significant boxing in. Comments (18)Any chance you have enough room outside the bath for a barn door? That would open up your floor plan greatly. I just got done installing pocket doors in my bath and office, huge space saver-but a lot of work. The barn door concept wont give you the air tight seal of a door but since ive put mine in, it is hardly ever used lol. If you can do either of those I would seriously consider moving the door closer to the tub and putting your vanity on the wall to the left. You will have a lot more storage, the layout will seem less hectic and if you are doing this for yourself (not planning on moving) you will enjoy it more. My initials used to be AD lol, now I am ADG...See MoreAny advice on a bathroom layout in a small space
Comments (29)Hi Richard, My thoughts, (and I'm not an expert, so just a personal opinion), but I think the wetroom idea will be a total nightmare to keep clean. I would also be concerned that it not would be the safest option with young children in the house. Unless you are going to meticulously dry the floor down after every shower, anyone using the room afterwards, washing their hands at the sink for example would need to walk on a wet and possibly slippery floor. Also not ideal if you walk around the house in socks.... wet feet.. :-/ Even with really good drainage the floor would remain wet for some time after each shower. These concerns may only bother me though, these things are so subjective, but I always consider how much work will be involved in keeping a room clean and looking great....and the fact that the bath would get wet and no doubt splatted with shampoo and shower gel every time someone showered would have me in there constantly cleaning. This option is definitely also the more costly option as tanking would be required, and I you plan to sell in a year or so, I am not sure it would add value equivalent to your spend on the room. I would go for a nice shower over bath arrangement, this can still look lovely and high end. For example:...See MoreBathroom layout help needed please!
Comments (5)It feels a little cramped to me as your access to the bath is so restricted. I’ve just put this layout together that might be worth a try. (it would require a slightly smaller bath) if you can, get some boxes in there to represent furniture and move around it before committing to anything. Also, are you planning a freestanding bath and tap?? this might look squashed in and therefore make the room feel smaller (also really hard to keep it clean round the back) I would consider a back to wall bath with the space you have. re towel rail, bit stumped on that too, could it go behind the door??...See More- 6 years agolast modified: 6 years ago
