Mirror, mirror, on the kitchen wall...

Hi Houzzers! We’ve been living with the new kitchen for a few months now, and it’s time to get a backsplash... trouble is, we can’t decide what we want!
DH would like to avoid small tiles with lots of grout - even dark grout - to reduce the cleaning burden. I had always fancied a fox mirror, either in large format tiles or a single, pricey piece... (needs to be tempered on account of the single wok ring and double socket on that wall - gah!). I brought home a sample of Original Style mirrored tile. DH is a fan, but now I’m concerned it’s just going to reflect every bit of clutter that inevitably ends up on my kitchen counter...
I’ve attached a pic. We’d run the backsplash along the entire wall, up to the wall cabinets. There’s a couple of oak shelves still to be installed at the right-hand side.

Comments (8)I agree with minnie101 - mirror above the bench and coat hooks on the short wall because of the way the door opens. When you walk in it will look better to see your lovely mirror but if the first thing you see is a lot of coats it could give the hall a cluttered feel....See MoreMirror mirror in the wall!

I attach the plan. I spent a LOT of time thinking about the layout - you’ll see that some Houzzers helped me from my previous posts! Happy to answer any questions about the final logic.
The cabinets are from unitsonline.co.uk, Barnes, from the Burbidge range, in soft grey and pale navy. DH installed them.
Worktops are unistone Bianco Misterio, from Mayflower Stone.
Appliances are all Smeg, with the exception of the wine fridge, which is mQuvee.

5 years agoWe have Original Style copper leaf tiles - love them... They can be cut with a glass cutter although we didn’t put any sockets in to spoil the line. They’re beautiful tiles generally
