Advice on how to keep brown leather sofa contemporary
Comments (25)Hi. What colour are your ŵalls re the curtains? I do agree with others that I find a shade of blue works best with brown although clearly many colours do. A dusky pink is also very nice (has to be the right shade though!) if you were to mix it with lighter Browns and soft whites. How contemporary is the rest of the house? Putting down a cowhide rug for example would immediately make it look contemporary. If you went with a rug in shades of browns with some white it would also create a slight contrast between floor and sofa. The sofa looks quite contemporary anyway so would think more about the accessories....See MoreIkea sofa and sofa bed issue
Comments (1)May I suggest you email Ikea with these questions? Or call their customer service. I personally wouldn’t buy a sofa, sofa bed or bed without trying it out in store first. Read the reviews for the sofa-bed - are they mostly positive? None of my sofas are identical, but they are a similar colour. It still works....See MoreLeather Sofa Restoration - Advice Needed
Comments (0)Hi,I have two leather sofas that require restoration & tlc. My sister was getting rid of them and I couldn't resist having a go at restoring them. The problem is I'm not quite sure how to fix them. The leather is patchy. In some its light brown and other places are dark chocolate colour (large patch area's of both colours). When I used leather cleaner, the lighter brown patches peel to reveal the darker colour. The peel is sort of like eraser shavings. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? And how do I get them back to one shade (without damaging them)? It's almost like a film coating peeling off, but it's painstaking slow peeling. If anyone can help, it's would be much appreciated. Thanks...See MoreSofa Advice for Neutral Room Scheme
Comments (4)Hello KP, Looks like you have answered your own question. Used those accent colours on the sofa by using them in a throw and cushions and prints, pictures, photo frames and even the pot of plants. The green will run through your plants. I would also add light blues, light blues, sky blues, cobalt blue, which are resting colours. Thinking more could you get your sofa in a light blue ? It will give the place a calming but fresh feel. If you are not sure on the accessories, you could buy them, mix and match and play around with them and if they do not work take them back. But leave them in place for a day as the light in the room changes throughout the day so does the look of the colour. Your sofa should have a swatch attached to it so you could take that with you to match and get complimentary colours. Do even look at colours you think do not match, you will be surprised what it does to a room. Have Fun :)...See MoreCelery. Visualization, Rendering images
