I wonder if you can tell me where the floor tiles are from and style? I'm looking for something that looks just like this! love the kitchen too.

Hi Ffion, I have to agree with Thelma Henry Interiors. Use a large format wall tile, even 450 x 900 to have as few grout lines as possible. Porcelanosa do several pale grey tiles, Rodano Acero 80 x 80 cm, Nápoles 44 x 66 cm, and others. Paint an "old" white above to match the white of your floor tile. Make sure there's enough contrast between the paint colour and the white of the sanitary ware to avoid having the walls look dirty. Hope that's useful.

I love the tiles in your bathroom, although they may feel dated in the future, but then most things date. Regarding the kitchen, I feel sure you will find something ideal and if you want a pattern, provided it matches well and you like it, then why not, but I would be careful as your kitchen has a number of colours already. The only thing I would say is, do not go for plain white. Many years ago we rented a holiday home in Ste Maxime in the South of France and the kitchen was totally white, as I walked in I just knew it was my ideal kitchen, within hours I was mopping the floor and spent my whole holiday trying to keep it clean, it was a nightmare, it showed every mark. Mind you at the time the children were young and we spent a great deal of time on the beach, so wet and sandy feet were the order of the day, but, be warned!

You could try dc fix. It's not going to last forever but it should last few years giving you time to save for new doors or entire kitchen. http://www.nuapurissa.fi/2013/12/ohjeita-dc-fix-kalvolla-paallystamiseen.html?m=1 This girl (sorry text not in English but it has nice before and after pics) covered her wood effect doors with white dc fix. I think she used these instructions: http://youtu.be/3fRlZ_0-A1A As for handles, you could try painting them or get new ones. If you try to match the screw distance it is very easy to swap new ones without needing to drill new holes.

What a lovely, homely transformation. Those LA Mr Jones tiles are gorgeous! We turned our bathroom into a shower room and the total cost was just under £6000 and it’s a tiny room, so I get how your original budget wasn’t enough! I’m in a 1930s house and have the same doors as you, which was nice to see. Well done.
