First thoughts and suggestions for first apartment
Comments (14)Congrats on your purchase !!! I actually think this is a well thought out design as it stands. Showers are usually wider than baths - but in this instance I think a 2mX.8m shower could work - but it will make the bathroom seem smaller ... Having a single 1.1m glass divider wall opposite the basin with the open walk in area opposite the loo will help - as keeps that area in front of loo feeling a bit less closed in . Other than that - I would agree with above post about changing the bathroom door to open inwards, unless this is to do with a local build code ( looks like non UK plan) - check before you change it ! I wouldn't mess with the kitchen walls - as walking from the bathroom straight out into an open kitchen isn't ideal, nor is walking in the front door straight into a kitchen - but that's just my opinion. It could be to do with local build code - so again, check first locally before you take anything down ! Happy home making !!!...See MoreGlass or Acrylic wall pannel vs of bathroom tiles
Comments (15)A very personal choice, and we do all the above options for our clients. Some people much prefer the look and feel of tiles, but grout discolouration & cleaning is the perennial bugbear. Wrt panels, I would urge you to do your homework, as there are some poor quality products on the market which can degrade quickly. We certainly recommend Nuance panels because of their "inert" substrate and class-leading guarantee. More expensive than other products, but in my opinion, worth the extra. Acrylic & glass also good alternatives. For an idea of price, try some of the online pricing tools available or contact Prad Glass who do some of our bespoke work - there are tools on the website to get an idea of cost, and they can be made in pretty much any finish. Comments (8)For me I don’t think someone who is planning a playroom needs to be considering their old age just yet. And in the original plan I thought the flow was a bit disjointed especially as the stairs were cramped and in effect open to the kitchen plus the kitchen layout is limited because of the door to the utility room. Furthermore I felt the bathrooms seemed cramped. In my opinion this plan can be much improved my moving the stairs which is likely not as big a job as you think....See MoreReplacement p-shaped bath with electric shower screen in small second
Comments (2)It is actually an electric shower screen that rises & can then swing out. The plug rises electronically & then the pump empties the bath....See MoreE D
