Color for the wall and floor

You're white spaces are fabulous! I'm wondering if the color for the floor is the same of wall. I don't thing so...but, we never know. Thank you very much and congratulation for these spaces. Hélène

I'm the photographer not the designer :) I know Claire mentioned the floors are Dulux brilliant white, not sure about the walls.

Hi Elizabeth, I proposed a colour scheme for you as that is usually where people struggle to "match" the granite. I proposed Farrow & Ball Colours but most paint counters will match to Farrow & Ball Anyway, if you want to keep costs down. I included two options for the lower half. You said you wanted to keep it light and the wall and top cabinet colour I proposed would work below as well. I just thought it would be nice to have a darker colour option just in case you changed your mind. Don't forget that high gloss surfaces will bounce light around the room. This means that lighting and the type of finish you propose will be critical to the end result. Also be ware if you are painting the cupboards yourself that silk paint will show up every imperfection! I hope this helped you. Good luck! Jo x

The sofas in Room 1 dominate the room and line the walls. The one by the Front door needs bringing forward and the armchair moving. They need to be around a focal point. I presume that the T.V should be sitting over the T.V Console and that it's been moved. The TV is too low. The console needs to come out of the Bay Window and really be replaced with a solid wood one as it currently matches nothing. The mirrors don't sit evenly over the sofa middles. The Sofas need softening and the curtains need to go. ( Don't want to be harsh, but they do nothing for the room at all. ) If you go with a pale grey, soft and plush material for the curtains this will help build the base palette, also a rug in the same for the sofa area. Then add in a contrast colour, such as mustard, teal, turquoise etc in small quantities. Rugs Then do the same with room two, but maybe change to a different accent colour.

For inspiration: And teal sofa's are great! But I would -personally- not put brown (weathered penny) on the walls. Especially not if it's 'just as dark' as the teal. Pick either a lighter or a darker color. Pale beige/greige, dark moss*. Offwhite would work just fine, as your midcentury vibe will come from your furniture. And orange and apple green should be used for small accents (pillows etc), not on large surfaces. (* Dulux Polished Pebble or Pebble Shore, Bronze Fig, RAL6007 or 6008?)
