Hello shillyali, One possibility might be to remove the downstairs bathroom in favour of a tiny loo/cloakroom.. Then have the remaining space from the entrance moving seamlessly into the kitchen. So perhaps the possibility of having a galley kitchen down the left side and possibly a section opposite. This opens the area up a little more between current kitchen and conservatory.. Also means you might be able to add another set of french doors in the kitchen area- build out to match the conservatory line and so you have double french doors going through to the garden.. Re configure the stairs to an open arrangement and open the two reception rooms to have more flow by being open plan.. .. Take out the central wall between reception 1 and 2 and have french doors.. Or just a plain squared off opening. : ))

Will the cloakroom fit next to the front door? Could you put the utility in the cloak room And then knock the kitchen/ utility/ playroom space together to make a kitchen diner and then use the dining room as a playroom.

Hi Becky, can’t help on kitchen configuration but just thinking re doors, how do you access the living room at the moment, is it just through those double doors? Also, if you’re blocking off your dining room door from the hallway, you could move the kitchen door further back, in line with the living room wall where the double doors are. This would make your hallway a little shorter but would possibly give you more square space in the new kitchen diner to fit your island in? Just a thought.
