I love Brandi's 'rainwashed' paint colour. I'd go against a whole carpet in tartan as although it's still on trend presently, trends don't last forever, and replacing a rug is cheap compared to a whole carpet when you're fed up with it. I found a lovely one in Next that i think compliments the whole scheme. next rug It's a lovely thick wool rug, sumptuous !

Hi there, It’s great to be able to work with a blank canvas and good fun too. I can see you love bold colours, but it can be hard to find the right balance sometimes. I would suggest a soft, calm colour on your walls which will enhance your furniture and create a real feature out of them. If you want to avoid cream, try a warm neutral tone such as Dulux Rich Praline 5. This gorgeous neutral will give your space a new look and complement your dark red sofas, allowing you to bring an accent colour in through accessories. Another tone that works beautifully with red accents is Dulux Maraschino Mocha 5 which will add warmth to your room. Alternatively, Dulux Dusted Moss 2 is a lovely calm green-grey tone, that will add a touch more colour to your space for a fresh look. I’d recommend you try tester pots of these colours so you can see how they work with your natural lighting. I can see in your ideabook that you love the wood cabin style – how about creating a feature wall with a wood panelling effect on one wall of your room to add some interest through texture and pattern? This would look great paired with soft neutral coloured walls. I hope this helps and happy decorating! Jo Dulux Amazing Space www.designer.duluxamazingspace.co.uk

Hi Lucy, For a toilet floor a darker grey grout would be best to hide any stains or spills. However from your photo the base colour of the tile looks quite beige, so a coloured grout like the BAL Micromax2 in Lime would be a good option, this will keep a heritage look whilst being more practical than an off-white. If you'd like to test a few options, we offer grout sticks in our stores which you can take home and lay next to the tile in the actual light of your bathroom to help you decide and make sure it's a good match before purchasing.

I like what you've done so far! My suggestion is to go hunting for vintage saris on ebay, and make a blind from that. I think they're beautiful and while they wouldn't suit every project, they certainly would suit here. You'd struggle to match the green, but cream, pale grey, or heavily embroidered with gold or silver thread would all look great, or perhaps maroon or dusty pink if you want a contrast. If your window is wider than one sari width it might take some juggling to take advantage of the most embroidered end, but I think it would be well worth it.
