Wallpaper advise

hi guys , I m thinking of changing the wallpaper of my small box room which I am currently using as my office ..
I have recently moved in this house and am thinking of changing the wallpaper which is already been put up to something really bright and colourful ....I love colours like yellow and orange so was thinking if we could go with something which has a yellow base..

I would really love to hear from you guys thanks

You can get away with quite a lot in terms of colour selection and pattern, if you keep to the black sofas and white/glass high gloss look, you might be spoilt for choice. If your furnishings are in the beige/stone/brown scheme, it does narrow your colour choices somewhat. The main thing to ask though is what will your floor and skirting boards be like? That has a greater impact! Do you have an image you could attach of the kind of look you want the room to have?

There is an ethical issue with this question. It is possible to use a high adhesion primer over the paper prior to painting. This will work. However, any attempt to scrape any part of the wallpaper may release free asbestos fibres into the air. Once painted the wallpaper may become a hazard for someone else who may be unaware of the problem. If you wish to remove it you will need to use a licensed contractor.

Hello Jimmy & Vicky, There’s nothing worse than falling in love with a certain item and then not being able to find it on the high street. These lanterns are very popular at the moment and there are a few of them on the market, in all different shapes and sizes. I have found you two high street retailers that have lanterns very similar to the one in the wallpaper which I hope you’ll like. The first is this beautiful tall silver lantern from John Lewis which has the same square design and a luxurious finish. Thank you both, it's really kind of you to help. The master bedroom is quite large with high ceilings as it would have originally been a drawing room, so I'm planning to paper all the walls in that room as opposed to having just a feature wall. With a complimentary paint colour above the picture rail and the ceiling. Following your advice I think I'll then paint the first floor guest room (come nursery) in one of the warm accent tones from the paper. I've found the paper is also available in a beautiful blue so I'm thinking I'll use this in the front second floor guest room, and paint the second guest room on that floor in a complimentary paint colour. That plan could be boarding a little with the boutique hotel look though which I wanted to avoid : / You've really helped! Thanks so much.

You could consider a hand made wallpaper, which these days are much more affordable and you can stamp your own individual taste on a small quantity.
