Comments (205)Sounds like a plan, Tino. I really like that umbrella picture, and am looking forward to seeing where you put it. I also really like that red lamp. Just off the top of my head I don't think that its too much red, since your rug only has the slim red circle, and the couch has the red throw adding color. However, since you are the one there in the space you are the only one who can judge whether it too much color, or not. I'm glad that you think my ideas have been helpful-and, of course, I have a lot of company out here with a lot of good ideas, and design experience in a lot of cases....See MoreUpdate living and dining room
Comments (15)Thanks for replies. I'm not an expert in any shape or form but I have decorated and furnished our georgian home which we bought recently so have outlined my thoughts. Symmetry is key to georgian design so would have matching sofas (classic style) either side of the fireplace with a coffee table in the middle on an oriental rug. A pair of wing chairs would also look good but appreciate you want to minimise! Sage green or stone may work well with the curtains or try a pale duck egg (it's difficult to see the exact tones of the curtains). Georgians drew on oriental design, Chinoiserie wallpaper is very in at the moment and Is typical of the period. They also used black lacquer, maybe consider white oriental lacquer furniture as a modern touch? I would put a picture rail in the lounge as it looks as if you have one in the dining room so would carry it through. The lounge would look lovely with a large chandelier. Maybe accessorise with Roman busts, large ginger jars etc. the parquet sounds lovely. They are lovely rooms anyway so I am sure they will look stunning...See MoreIdeas wanted for large victorian living/dining room
Comments (7)Hi. I think it's going to echo until you get some soft furnishings in there. Rug/s, cushions, a throw for the arm of the sofa and curtains (keep them fairly light). A mirror/s will bounce the light as will any reflective accessory, light or piece of furniture. Floor and table lamps will add cosiness, as do plants and books plus different textures for your accessories, When you hang Art, hang it just a few inches above the sofa or dining table so the centre of the art is at eye level, it will connect with the furniture and make it feel cosier. Do add 1/2 pieces of taller things to mix up the scale such as a floor lamp or piece of furniture....See MoreTired Living Room Transformed in Edinburgh!
Comments (16)Hi Resh E. Thanks for your kind comment. The colour is Farrow and Ball's Light Blue. It looks a little brighter than it is in these photos but it's a fabulous colour in all lights. Best wishes. Lally...See Morecomfydesign
