So funny! I'm planning to paint the bannister at the new house (TNH) black and am veering towards painting the treads and risers black too... I've been searching for images of black staircases on Houzz and putting them in my entrance hall ideabook. They are few and far between. In your case, I think, with your white walls, maybe the stairs white and the bannister black? (Assuming the white walls continue up the stair walls enabling the b/w contrast.) You've already put black firmly into the equation, adding some more may give more reason for the black rad cab. In my case, there is a very off-centre radiator that could so very easily have been directly opposite the front door in TNH which is rather annoying as it stuffs up the focal point. We are leaving here with every radiator covered with a cabinet - and going to TNH that has loads of radiators ...but no cabinets! Yes, the work ahead is daunting - especially since the area of Ireland we're going to is very basic and not full of DIY resources, etc. I keep thinking I'll paint TNH white - to make things simpler(!) But try as I may colour keeps wandering through my mind! Lovely to be in touch again!

I got these recently from Matalan! Only £20 and personally I love the shape https://www.matalan.co.uk/product/detail/s2668224_c000/tear-drop-shaped-pendant-1-25m-x-0-33cm-x-0-25m-white I like the idea of having a hook to centre it above the table. Another option could be to have an arc floor lamp potentially. I think additional lamps on the other side of the room would probably be good regardless, for overall lighting

Monica on here made a DIY marble resin vanity (I should say Monica excels at such things though!). i’ve just googled DiY marble resin table and there appears to be a few tutorials. Alternatively you could just try refinishing it. If you’re not looking to keep the top I guess it won’t do any harm if either go wrong?! I don’t mind the table either though and think a runner or cloth would cover the scuff marks. TBH architects aren't kitchen designers, its more for showing where the kitchen space is and how the drainage may run so the drawings get through planning. You need to get a kitchen designer to drawer up a plan based on the architects drawings and measurements. You also need to decide what you want from the space, ie seating and dining area's vs kitchen area and island. Also if there's other design constrictions like different levels etc. When you start your build, the builder will want a detailed kitchen plan so all your services gas, electric and waste are in the right place for first fixing so its never to soon to get a kitchen designer involved.
