sand mixed paints

Inside an 1880's small cottage, I want to add some interest into plain walls, and cover up some blemishes, with a stipple effect. I seem to be struggling to source a sand mixed paint - can anyone help please either for a ready mixed product or tell me what sand I will need to mix my own?

https://www.sandtex.co.uk/products/sandtex-fine-textured-masonry-paint/ Limited colours off the shelf but check in trade decorating centres such as Brewers, Johnstones Trade or Dulux trade as you can get a bigger range of tinted colours. It’s textured masonry paint but you should be able to use it indoors.

using a varnish stripper you will be there for ages the lacquer, will need to be sanded down to bare wood to allow the product to absorbed in to the wood for longer durability, and my preference product that i like to use for white wash wooden floors is WOCA wood lye,in white, is 1 of the best products,that us pros use ,or Farrow & Ball Floor paint , with woca products i have create a lovely colours by mixing different colours together,

Sand it. Walls painted that have not been correctly prepared look awful. Time and effort spent on them is worth it in the end.

DIY wood floor sanding

Having done DIY floor sanding, I must agree that a "proper" floor sander is what you need. You will go through some sandpaper, and if you try a wall sander, hand-held random orbital sander or detail sander for such a large area ... you'll end up paying more for sanding sheets than the cost for a floor sander hire plus a sander belt or two for it. Never mind it'll take you eternities. When I inquired with HSS about the floor sander hire, they gave me both the big one and a smaller random orbital sander - they told me that'll be needed for the edges. Right they were. The job itself is noisy - and very dusty, the collection bag only helps so and so much. Get a good dust mask; I'd recommend full-face / with eye+face protection. Your lungs & eyes will thank you. Other than that, it's not a hard DIY task.

Try an electric hand sander? It will be better for removing varnish and paint. You can hire one if you don’t want to buy one, although they’re not too expensive to buy. You can also view tutorials on YouTube with videos of how to use one.
