Can you tell me which size 371 Hex Pull cabinet pulls you have on the lower cabinets? Thank you,

I don't have the size recorded anywhere but if my memory serves me correctly, they are 6" pulls.

You need to consider 2 important points. 1. Raw material sizing will restrict how high you can make your units. You also need to consider transport. Its one thing to make a 3m high tall unit (not possible as most material sheets max out at around 2.4-2.5m) but how do you transport it. How do you bring it round corners in houses etc? 2. Special sizing and slab painted doors are not what you would find in sheds. You need to look at independents or bespoke cabinet makers and yes you would have to pay for specially made furniture.

We have also just installed our diy-kitchens kitchen and are very happy with the results. Like you, we need to maximise the storage space and awkward layout and could do so with the wide range of cabinet sizes available. It probably took us a total of a week full time to design it properly (= a few weekends a month spread over 3 months), but this included changing the whole layout of electric cables & sockets & gas and water pipes and a toilet waste pipe running through the kitchen. You have to be methodical with designing a kitchen but diy-kitchens do have a guide to planning a kitchen and working out what layout suits you best. We did the fitting on the weekend which also took 3 weeks (including some clever fitting to get access to the meters and stop cock), but it meant we could maximise the storage space. For about 20 carcasses and end panels, plinths etc but not including appliances we spent £7k on solid wood painted shaker range Linwood.

If the door is being hinged as you say then i'd have a vertical handle. Depending on the type of handle you've decided on, having all horizontal handles works fine in a galley kitchen but when you have an L shape the doors in the corner can get damaged by the handles of the adjacent doors when these are opened. Looking at the pic it looks like you're having an american fr/frz to the left of the oven tower and the top box looks like its stepped forward so a large horizontal handle could possibly hit the top box assuming the door is hinged left. If the vertical handle doesn't look ok with the symmetry of the kitchen then you could opt for a lift up door with servo drive by blum then the door would open and close at the touch of a button.

Hello, @Juliet Docherty is exactly right, and unfortunately, that is the cause of the problem on this one. The cream is actually bringing out the purple further (and the red teatowel won't be helping). The first step would be to change the tiles to a white that compliments the grey with its undertone. The walls with them are much easier to manage (and find a white for). I would then (personal preference only) also do white on the beams overhead to minimise their impact, push up the ceiling and allow the kitchen and lighter wood here, to take centre stage. When all this is done, as a side note, you may then also want to change the bar stools to get away from those creams :) PS I love your floor! it's gorgeous. I hope this helps. But definitely, always get samples of tiles and place them with the kitchen in the actual rooms you are working with - taking a door to the artificially lit warehouse isn't going to give you an exact colour reference to look at. The same with the wall colours - we found with our clients, painting a shoe box works best because standing this is your room you can see angles from all sides and where shadows fall etc all in one sample - works really well with an empty space too.
