Bathroom wallpaper or self adhesive tiles

I would like to know where I would get fish scale or scallop shaped teal or olive green coloured wallpaper or self adhesive tiles.

Rasch wallpapers do a couple of designs with the scallop shape (see pics). I personally wouldn’t go for self adhesive tiles as I think cleaning them would be a nightmare. There are plenty of ceramic tiles in this shape tho. Stenciling could be another option if you’re on a budget, plenty of pre-made stencils in this style. Hi. I'm not an expert and often a little knowledge is dangerous! However we had a very uneven floor in our lounge and wanted to install a solid wood floor as the original was not in good condition. The floor can be levelled either using a self levelling compound or by fitting a plywood floor over the top of the original. You should then be able to have the flooring type you want. Vinyl is good quality and great for bathrooms but you do need the floor to be boarded before it can be laid. I think your best bet is to get a free quote from a floor fitter!

I am a tiler so its in my interest to persuade people to fit more tiles but I agree with the other people who are questioning why you want to do this. You can transform the room with wall paper as Kerosis suggests and if you tire of that in a few years it is easy to remedy. I always point out to people that tiles are put on the wall as a practical durable easy to clean surface and therefore it is often not necessary to put them everywhere. If you do decide to fit tiles then you should remove the paint on the walls 1st as that was only ever designed to hold itself on the walls and it doesn't matter how brilliantly your adhesive hangs onto that paint if the extra load causes the paint bond to fail then your tiles will no longer be bonded to the wall (no such problem with lightweight wallpaper :-) Terry the tiler

We may not share artistic values but we do share one good thing... love and our life together - he's simply your typical man who loves to lounge around even when covered in dirt! We may have completely different ideas for our home but he is a good egg :) Anyway I do believe we have found common ground... surprisingly he really likes my idea of using grey with bright colours. We have agreed that as long as I stop forcing him to endure flamingos or similar, he will put up with me buying vintage and completely unnecessary furniture. He's said I can do whatever I want with those awful armchairs... WIN! I think we are going with man friendly greys meets pops of colour/vintage. It's pay day next week and I simply can't wait any longer!! Having said that... some ideas for what style of vintage and arrangements will be wonderful! Here is the photo from my kitchen door - anything attached to the walls were already there from the previous residents and will be removed... such as the mirror which isn't in line with that hideous folding table and the strange religious wall in the corner.... plus the half finished wallpaper on the chimney breast lol. x
