Can someone please tell me what this is?

I’m having an undermount sink installed and am considering a built in soap dispenser. However I keep seeing these strange looking things also - can someone please tell me what they are? It’s the funny looking thing in between the tap and the dispenser! :)

It's similar to a shower attachment on a Flexi hose. You don't need a separate tap for this as one can buy a tap with a pull out Flexi hose in one.

Like this, the end of the spout pulls out with a hose attached.

Ah thanks all, I actually have a tap with one built in as you suggest. Not installed yet but hopefully soon. :)

Any thoughts on the built in soap dispensers, are they any good. I have a Blanco Silgranit sink and the matching one is over £100 so wondering if it’s worth it. Are they all interchangeable if they break later down the line?

A Blanco silgranit sink is a great choice, I use them all of the time. I’ve never specified their soap dispenser, (no client has ever been tempted to pay for an extra hole in solid surface worktops), but knowing Blanco German engineering I’d be surprised if quality was not 100%. Good luck with the new kitchen!

Personally, I think the soap dispenser is something I wouldn't bother with.

To my mind, it creates visual clutter, will make it harder to clean around the sink area and I believe a lot of money vs. the benefit & use.

These sprays are usually sold as an add on to a Boiling water tap that does not come with a pull out (Except Quooker)

Great for water fights ... although sensible people don’t do this !
