how do you clean your quartz worktops?

We've just had lovely white quartz worktops, upstairs and splashbacks installed.
Our previous kitchen had ancient laminate so we didn't worry about what to clean it with!

My preference is to use something like method kitchen surface cleaner, or ecover- something more natural.
Would this work or damage it in any way? The suppliers recommend cif

I use ecover multiaction spray once a week on mine and it’s fine, have been using it for about 2 years. The rest of the week I just use Ecloth dishcloths with water only. If it gets stained which is rare (wet teabags and curry can be problematic) I spray dettol surface cleaner on the stain leave for a few minutes then rub away. I’ve had white quartz worktops for 12 years now and not had any issue with damage/staining. They are pretty robust, I’m not careful with mine at all!

I use washing up liquid/warm water. Bar keepers friend is good for water marks around the sink/tap area.

I never, ever change mine. I use a butcher block and a huge thick wooden cutting board, only taking care to keep my fruits from suddenly tasting like onions or garlic. Studies have shown that a wooden cutting board is naturally resistant to bacteria, so I scrape and then wash mine off with soap and water after use. All this absurd paranoia about cleanliness is the product of marketing, not science, and the supposedly more sterile plastic ones are actually much better petri dishes for bacterial growth, which is why they must be cleaned and disposed of regularly. Fine if you want to keep plastic cutting board manufacturers in China working, but not at all safer or cleaner.

I am considering white quartz work tops but a kitchen supplier told me that they are prone to staining. She told me her mum's had stained with the pollen from a bunch of orchids. I have read previously that turmeric and wine stains can be removed with a "soft scrub" the green side of a washing up sponge and a little bleach. Ive heard good reports also of a product called "comet" which I am guessing is a product available in the US? I'm not sure what the English equivalent would be. Does anyone have any experience or success in removing the orchid pollen stains? Thanks.

Every day I give the bathroom a clean, I love shiny chrome and squeaky clean porcelain, if you keep on top of it it really only takes 10 mins max, including the floor tiles. Use disposable kitchen roll for your loo, and 2 glass cleaning cloths, one wet and one dry, for your porcelain and shower screen. Floor wipes are great, but steam cleaner is effortless. The 'sock fairy' does her rounds when the children are in bed, and quietly puts them in the washing machine. The same for the dishes in the dishwasher. Then, the timers kick in at wake up time. It is lovely to think that the machines are doing all the work and I haven't even got up yet! Beds made and we're off to do life! No time for cleaning. We hire the person who does the floors windows and the boring stuff, and I make a point of inviting someone once a month when the whole family pitches in and we all go mad and make the house extra beautiful with flowers and such. We're all pretty neat and clean up and tidy as we go, so we don't really live in mess- but I'm not a slave to the Neatnik.

You will find the best results are achieved using 'Bar Keepers Friend' it comes in powder and spray format. You can find it at most supermarkets including Salisbury's as well as Lakeland and even from Amazon
