countertop quartz variance

Is the variance in this calcacatta quartz acceptable? Countertops have been installed for about 2 weeks and I just noticed this today however we are not living in the house

Yes, if you check the Caeserstone website they say; " As Calacatta Nuvo™ incorporates large veins with some small unique natural variation between slabs, we encourage those of you that select this design to view your actual full slabs first hand at the stonemason prior to them commencing fabrication."

I am not sure if your product is from Caeserstone or a competitor, but most manufacturers have a similar disclaimer with their veined reconstituted stone as there is variation between slabs as you have discovered.

If you were selecting from real Calacatta marble from Italy you would definitely check the slabs before delivery as there is always variation in natural material. I suppose the question is - who checked the slabs? Or did you just order for two to be delivered, assuming they would be the same?

Hi I think what you are asking is if the stone mason has done a good job matching the Veins from two slabs so they are in line across the join that also changes direction; and the answer to this is yes, this is a really good job when you consider the two pieces have come from different sections of a slab.

Like all quartz brands and also even granites they must be glue down correctly and with quartz it is silicone and no shims at all, you do not need them if the cabinets are level. First thing any installer should check with a 6" level. side to side, front to back. I can tell you know that this will void the Silestone warranty or any other manufacturers warranty, from the photos you have shown. You are correct does not matter if the floors are way out of level, the adjustments on the cabinets will take up the issues there. But sometimes it is also the legs are not weight rated for stone. They use them because the are cheap, but the flex and bow under the load of stone. The photo below is straight from the Silestone fabrication and installation manual and this is from our draft manual for one of the major manufacturers. Your stone counters do not even look like they have been stuck down into place, there is no silicone, nothing! Ps I know of two members on here that work for Silestone. They generally will pass information on.

Definitely, my friend has done just that. So granite worktop and upstand, but where the window is the upstand reaches the window ledge, and then the ledge is covered in granite too. Very easy to keep cleaned and very tidy!

Hi, do you have photos of the space? Is it a light or a dark room? I would personally choose a white or light grey quartz or something like Silestone. Maybe a marble vein in it, like Calacatta Gold. You need to get some samples to see the colours in situ. But if it is a very light filled room, you could also go for a darker granite or quartz.

Does anybody has a Zeus Extreme or Iconic White Silestone countertop, I'm trying to find a matte whire finish quartz and some people said that the Zeus look like a bit plastic. I couldn't find to many post about these quartz from Silestone. Any tips, pictures and suggestion would be great! Thanks
