Need help with bedroom design!
Comments (14)Yes, usually my accent wall is wall papered, first time in a long time not papered as I do like patterns and shapes. I am starting bedroom project tomorrow, think I am decided on the colour of the walls, and the brass look, just hundred things running through my mind on how to tie it in all together now, so concentrating on what to do with the curtains and bedspread. I usually go for bedding that is striking and vivid, as I love a good bed (I did say don't take notice of my bedroom at the moment, it is thrown together and looks awful) curtains always scare me on what to do there, so I usually just go for one colour. But please, any ideas, are greatly wanted and appreciated. So when you say a purple drape, are you saying on for the curtains? I really want to try and experiment there, but, as said, they always scare me lol...See MoreHelp me do up my bedroom. I don't erm...exactly know what I'm doing :-
Comments (44)HiTino Felly, Marie Here. Your off to a great start - but you've made a common mistake in that you've found your inspiration for your colour palette, but your not committing to it. You need to bring the greens and blues up onto the walls and onto the floor - commit to it. You could: - add a great throw rug underneath the bed, - add big table lamp beside the bed - or better yet, a wall sconce, - drapery isn't really the best choice for this bedding - I would have brought in a bold graphic print here, in either the blue or the green - artwork can stay neutral - even do a collection of mixed metals in chrome, gold, and have fun with that - if you add too much in the blue and green it becomes boring and un-special. Choose your accessories carefully, I'd change out your drapery - go with something bolder, I'd also get a larger night stand so you could put a proper table lamp there. Good Luck!...See MoreHow would you design this bedroom? I want it calm, cosy & bright :)
Comments (36)Gone through my album of our very own decorating therapy journey and found these. I hope you can see the roller black-out in the first photo, it's tucked inside the recess of the window. The Duette is a peachy colour which looks a lot lighter colour in the north-facing sun. The one in the five panel window is the room below, it does not have the roller blind but the curtains are black out. They are not as efficient in blocking out light as the roller in recess though. the curtains are from Hamilton McBride, only reason i got them were because not many wide (350cm) curtains are cheaply available on Amazon... If your room is not too cold, you can also consider wooden venetian, mine is in white colour as you can see from the 'blue room' (it's F&B's new Vardo btw), which is on the ground floor of the north facing side. 247 does oak colour too. Many neighbours asked us where we got those from!! They look great at a good price - those two windows cost me just under a £100 - but they are not the most energy efficient. They are okay blocking out light but if you have it in the south-facing room, it might not be quite enough. Do go to 247blinds and request some free samples, it's worth a try. Hope this helps! ;)...See MoreMaster bedroom re-design
Comments (4)Hi. Yes, I would paint the wardrobes and it really depends on the colour of the other walls. If you paint them the same colour as the wall they are on then they will appear to be apart of the wall and will be far less imposing. The mix match of woods doesn't help so I would look at changing this to have one wood and the painted if possible. I would add height to the room to help with the look, mirror the length in the wardrobes opposite drawing your eye up the space, with taller more imposing bedside lamps....See MoreHenry B Turner-Ward
