when to worry about cracks

We have a 1910 semi-detached built on a hill. There is evidence of old cracks in window lintels and coving in pretty much every room. Last year we got the leaky roof fixed and a woodburning stove installed meaning the house overall is a warmer and less damp than previously. There is evidence of lots of new cracks since then. Hubby says nothing to worry about. Plasterer said just fix the cracks. But at what point with a hundred years old house do you need to worry about cracks.
