Help please kitchen cupboard wrong colour choice!
Comments (26)French Grey is a lovely colour, I'd live with it for a while and the rug colour may be skewing it a little. I'd add a Roman blind to soften things, style it up a bit and see how you go. On the rug front - I think they are fine in a kitchen. Kitchens often had rugs but now it's frowned upon for some reason but they seem to be making a come-back I'm pleased to say as they add a lovely, comfortable homely feel. Find something washable, ideally a pattern, use underlay to anchor/stick it down if you're worried about slips and trips (depends on weight of rug). Size-wise, don't run it too close to units to avoid worst spills etc. The new synthetic indoor/outdoor rugs will work well or a washable cotton....See MoreHelp choosing kitchen cupboard doors
Comments (8)Hi there! Perhaps go for a 2 tone kitchen? dark grey base units, if you love that colour and a lighter grey on the wall units or maybe white? Dark grey does look stunning with white. Alternatively, paint one wall in dark grey, with dark grey accessories (kettle, toaster etc) which will make it look dramatic and keep the units white or light grey? Then if you are worried that the dark grey will date, you only have to change the paint colour and your accessories. :-) Hope this helps....See MoreKitchen cupboard paint colour
Comments (17)I don't know if you're painting this yourself but personally I might make some updates before doing so. Kitchens are very expensive to paint and I don't think its money well spent if you don't love the actual design (just going on your ideabook though so may be wrong). I think your canopy along with the "fillers"is wide enough to do similar this in the first pic? If you decide to remove the cupboards I would do something similar to the 2nd pic and probably add some form of shelves to bridge the space between the oven. i would also make the end of the island into bookshelves. I think once the decorative pillars and fillers between the base units are painted they will blend in. You could try shaded or shadow white and see how it works with the worktop but they're quite good colours for dark rooms. I would keep the island the same colour as the outer units. I do love inchrya blue but just wondering if a light colour will make the ceiling seem taller (although the blue won't make it any shorter than the red!). Unless needed for privacy I'd remove the blinds and maybe think about wooden shelves on the rhs...See MorePainting Kitchen Tiles and Cupboards Advice - Update (Before &After)
Comments (12)Hi Sonia, tile stickers are doing ok so far (it's about 6 months now). The ones I got are wipeable but you need to be careful you dont catch the edges. There is one near the cooker that I tried to take off and put back on (to get rid of an air bubble) about a month after I originally did them that hasn't stuck as well. I have spares so might replace that one. All the others are good so far even though they are getting splashed quite regularly near the sink and the cooker. To clean I normally spray the cloth and then wipe which seems to work....See MoreLTS
