If the seats are removable you could recover them in an upholstery fabric. You just need a staple gun.

How about tan leather/faux leather? I bought these chairs from Wayfair and they are very comfy. Next also sell them but more expensive. Wayfair have excellent customer service too. They have a huge selection of dining chairs.

I'm inclined to think that patterned chairs would lift the whole scheme - everything is very plain block coliurs at present. It looks lovely in the living room - that blend of navy/ grey/ mauve looks very inviting and restful. I notice two footstools in a similar shade to the dining chairs, which look fine, and would still 'link' to the table. If you could find a fabric including the current shade of chairs, and some shades of navy/blue to pick up those in the living room, that would work well. Failing that, what about a large rug in similar shades to go under the table and chairs ?
