Tap water or bottled water?
Comments (96)Karen Baumgarten mentioned fluoride. That's a whole other beast of a topic. Working in the water industry, I'm keenly aware of this topic and am passionately against fluoridating tap water. Provide me clean, safe water at a reasonable price. Do no add medication of any kind thank you. Comments (13)We had that choice when we fitted our new kitchen and categorically decided that it (in our specific situation) was a bad idea to have. It all depends on your situation though. We have young kids, we have young nieces/nephews and also 'elderly' relations. We decided that the majority of people using our house, who may wish to wash their hands, or rinse a cup out by hand would just turn on a tap and stick their hands under. Trying to re-educate both the young and the old not to use this tap when everyone has grown up with, and are used to, warm water coming out of the hot tap just wasn't going to be possible. Also, I don't really see the point of them (I view them as a nice to have) - I've always used a kettle for boiling water for drinks - I actually like the 5 minutes standing doing absolutely nothing waiting for the kettle to boil. As for the spuds, or pasta - mehh, I'm never in that much of a rush to have it done 5 minutes quicker than letting a pan boil....See MoreBoiling Water Tap
Comments (16)Holly - the boiling water couldn't be easier to use, you briskly move the chunky collar up and down twice (double push), which kind of unlocks it and then you just turn the collar to the right and the boiling water comes out. When the water running is boiling, the chunky collar is illuminated in red. If you have filtered water option, you hold the chunky ring down for a short time and then turn to the right, the collar illuminates blue. The two water functions (boiling/filtered and normal hot/cold) are controlled in totally different ways so, it's most unlikely you'd inadvertently get boiling when you weren't expecting it. Also if you have the hose, your not able to use it with the boiling water. Albeit dull, this short demo shows how it works https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_60kBRQ6zDA...See MoreBoiling Water taps - cheaper model advice
Comments (10)Hi all. Perhaps a little late to the party, but it may be relevant to others. In terms of a cheaper boiling water tap, this is exactly what we offer at The Boiling Water Tap Company. We've developed our own brand of boiling water taps and we only sell our own brand, so we know that we are offering only quality products. We have 3 in 1 taps (boiling water & hot/cold mixer) or the more luxury 4 in 1 which also incorporates filtered cold water as a bonus feature in addition to the features of a 3 in 1. Prices are from £299 in our current sale - https://www.theboilingwatertapcompany.co.uk/ Hope this is of use to some people. This is one of our 4 in 1 models in gunmetal....See MoreRibena Drinker
