Want to tile floor of small porch but not sure what to do with step?

Hi, I’m about to tile our tiny front porch area but I can’t quite figure out how to negotiate the small step down.

The wooden plinth in the picture is detachable so you can access some pipe work so I can’t really tile over this but if I was just to tile upto the edge I’m not sure how to finish the edge? I’ll have to put down ply and then the tile so it’ll raise the height a couple of cm above the existing height (so the plinth will be lower relative to this).

Hopefully the images are clear enough!
