Comments (5)Hi For years, people have stripped back carpet from stairs and painted them. With wooden floors being sold in all flooring shops, wooden stairs seem a natural progression - if not too noisy and not prone to scratch marks as people have said. Myself I have a wooden spiral staircase, quiet and not too scratch but also not great quality, laminate rather than wood. Comments (12)Great job! Best award for the trades people is to be part of a complex house renovation and stunning final result obviously. Lot's of stress and hard work but it pays off for both - customer and trader. Well done!...See MoreDragging a 1970s house into the modern day
Comments (22)I think the big decision for the OP is whether he wants his house to be sympathetic to the period houses around him or to go totally contemporary, as in some of the really inspiring images above. There may be also be considerations related to resale. In a neighborhood where all the houses are like the OP's place, I wouldn't hesitate to go contemporary, and my guess is that many others would also be going that way, but his house is a relatively recent infill in an old established strip....See MoreHelp with 1970s exterior
Comments (9)I know you said you don't want to go contemporary, but 70s houses upgrade really well with contemporary renovations because of their dimensions and shallow roofs I did a design for another post with a 70s house not to long ago...
