wall colour and sofa choice and everything else. help!
Comments (22)If you wanted you could buy new deep lloyd loom style chairs..they come in all sorts of F&B colours. I wouldn't agonise too much about colour. obviously, you could go for the stone/taupe/ neutral colours but personally I would go for a soft purple/aubergine colour ( think natures colours) which would add the same depth of colour as your walls. Think a colour would mix the room up a bit. A cafe table looks gorgeous with flowers on which leaves room for a drink or magazine, & again, is a nod to the garden. magazines & books are hugely decorative & some say essential for a room. I use old books for the rooms I do & to add emphasis to the furniture I source. You can choose an interior magazine, monthly, with a cover that appeals to add seasonal change. Layer your room gradually , experiment & have fun. keep an eye out for the right lamps, shades & cushions & think big rather than twee. Oh! & essentials I didn't spot but could well be there are paintings & a mirror?!...See MorePaint choices for Georgian sitting room...
Comments (29)Thanks mrsmcee74 for recommending Egyptian cotton, although I have used it before I hadnt really considered it for this room, it really looks great though - its in the part which is east facing, so your comments on that really swung it! Will post photos soon. Also, my painter was pleased as he loves Dulux trade - and something to note, it took only 2 coats of Dulux trade Egyptian Cotton, whereas the F&B lamp room gray took 3 it was so watery... I love the colours that F&B do, but the paint quality of dulux trade (not normal dulux) is much better....See MoreBathroom colour choice ? (first timer)
Comments (13)Dear Home design School, Spoke Interiors,The big bathroom shop and Carolins, Thank you so much for your time and thoughts. I utterly agree about the dark colours. I'm gonna look at the basalt blue from little green. Really appreciate this. Thank you. Feeling excited about it again :) And Carolin I'm certain i'll go for some pictures inside to, or a painting, to bring the wall to life and give it a personality...See MoreWallpaper/paint choice for large living room (& other dilemmas)
Comments (24)Thanks Minnie, I will look for a couple of darker accessories to bring the room together. We loved the grape wallpaper and had it until recently, as we fancied a change. We haven't had the grey wallpaper long unfortunately, but it just doesn't look right so decided to have a redo. (This is the only chance I've got though so anxious to get it right!) We are upgrading to a bigger TV, but it's still in the box at the moment! Hopefully the electrician who will hang it on the wall will be able to fit us in this week or next, and then I can decide what to put above the sideboard and piano. I know the TV will be wider than the TV cabinet but unfortunately we can't change any of the furniture. I'm hoping to find a way to make it look more balanced maybe by placing something on either side of the TV cabinet like plants and/or lanterns. Here's another photo of the wallpapers up on the wall - I'm maybe leaning towards the left one, as I like the textured look - might be longer lived than the patterns? I'm not sure....See MoreSonia
