What do you think of Pantone's Colour of the Year 2017?
Comments (46)I like this colour, it`s fresh and brings light in. I would rather use it on accessories rather than painting the whole wall of it. Greenery is great when combined with raw wood like in this image showing our Emeco 111 Navy Dining Chairs in Grass, available in our store. http://www.e-side.co.uk/product/Emeco_111_Navy_Chair_GRASS...See Morewhat do you think of my new plan?
Comments (4)Hi. I recognised the floor plan so looked at your previous posts. You mention converting the garage to a spare room so it might make sense to have room 2 as the shower room but where are the utilities as they can be costly to move? I can also see another post mentioning an extension of 6x4, is that correct? It would help if you could add measurements of all rooms (you can’t read anything on the one posted) and an upstairs plan. I think finally more details are needed. How many are in your family, are you keen cooks? If you have children, what age etc. Do they need a study area? What music do you play? Do you entertain, if so how many etc. Personally I’d put the kitchen and dining out the back, with utility cupboards in room 1 keeping a door to the kitchen so you can see from the front door to the garden. Kitchen on left wall with a peninsula in front with a floor to ceiling window in between the units and dining on the rhs. Having said that I’m useless at planning so I’d engage OnePlan to look at the entire floor space, a little money spent now could avoid costly mistakes and have a home that works for you!...See MoreWhat do you think of this?
Comments (25)Dear Devon kitchen co - you seem unsure yourselves of the design... My first thoughts are with the layout, the position of tall and upper units; it looks like you would walk into the room and feel that these are on top of you, especially the wall unit next to the chimney breast and then the tall units straight ahead of you; the balance just feels wrong. I would always try to place tall units in a way that makes them recede. Open shelving and glass cabinets always help. Difficult when you are working with a smaller space and the brief is demanding, you are also working with two corner solutions and had to create a U shaped kitchen to get everything in. If those tall units opposite the entrance are fridge and freezer, I would play with placing them down the far end of the kitchen and fill that in completely either side with other storage units maybe down onto the worktop, so that they create a wall of units, this would mean you would have a galley either side for surfaces, sink and hob etc, alternatively I would debate the use of under-counter appliances, fridge drawers maybe. Again difficult if your client needs greater capacity and has no-where else for secondary appliances such as a utility room. Very difficult to comment really unless you are in front of the plan and know the client brief. Hope it goes well - Laurane...See Morewhat do you think is the best layout for open plan kitchen/lounge/tv
Comments (23)I definitely like that you’ve gained a clear run from the hall way so you can see out to the back. I don’t think having the dining space diagonally really matters and as you say you gain extra light there. Also depends how much you use the table/living room/kitchen. I often Potter in the kitchen so would want that to be light enough to not always need to turn on lights, and often sit on the sofa and read so the same, but only eat evening meals at the table so it’s less of an issue, but if you use it all day, or have kids drawing there then you’ll have different priorities. I think if you can block off a small corner to create a utility cupboard that might be useful to help reduce noise in the open plan space. I think you could potentially do well discussing with a concept planner for the room. Many people on here have used OnePlan and recommend her. I think there are lots of options and everyone will have opinions of what works better but Presuming you’re doing this for you and not to sell then there’ll be additional considerations of your preferences and how you’d live in the space. :-)...See MoreE D
