Help with colours for north facing living room
Comments (14)Midcenturylass, I would definitely go for a warmer white if you are open to this! I would personally look for something between the two whites, as the Linen Wash is almost bordering a Beige. Post some photos up once you've painted, i'd love to see the outcome! :) As for your husband show him these two images that i've found online (attached). I'm sure he can understand that a Full red room, will make the room look small and with the lack of light coming into the room from being North facing this will create a very dark space. I hope this help you to suade him against full red!...See Moreadvice...sage green for a north facing dining room
Comments (21)Oh HU I’m going through the same dilemma and have received great advice from Houzzers. My chimney breast wall is turning into a patchwork of greens and greys and I’m drowning in tester pots! I’ve tried F&B greens, a couple of Dulux ones and now trying Laura Ashley. I really like LA paint, very good coverage, but not found the right shade yet. I’m liking their Eau de nil but it’s quite dark so I’m going to try Pale Eau de nil. My favourite so far is F&B Cromarty...........good luck with your search!...See Moreliving room colour help- north facing
Comments (1)Wimborne White is light and warm without being too obviously yellow. Skimming Stone is worth looking at too as it seems to go with lots of colours - I have used it with Inchyra Blue and it works well....See MoreNorth Facing Living room - paint advice
Comments (9)i'd choose a pale neutral rather than brilliant white - which could appear quite cold in a north-facing room. a pale neutral will read as 'white' but won't be stark. something like slaked lime (mid or pale perhaps) from little greene. but there's loads of pale neutrals, depends what undertone of any other neutrals in the room has as to which one will work best. and i'd do as you first suggested - the blue in the fireplace alcove and pale the rest of the walls. the dark alcove will be a cosy focal point and be brought forward visually by being a darker colour. rather than a beam of light in an otherwise dark room....See MoreE D
