SOFA choice for Living room with walls painted Natural Hessian

Hi,

Currently renovating my rental property, can you please help with choosing sofa i.e colour, whether 2 two seater sofas or one 3 seater sofa best suited for room or any other ideas welcome ;)

See attached photos of living room. Walls or painted natural hessian, getting light grey roller blinds installed and small table is being removed from living room.

Any help is greatly appreciated ;)

Is it for your use - ie you are the tenant . Or is if for other to use - ie you are the landlord??

If for first - go for something not too big as you next home might be smaller. Chose a colour and style that either classic and won’t date that you’ll keep for years - or funky and up to the minute that’s cheaper and can be replaced when you tire if it.

If you are the landlord, chose something that’s neutral colour and easy to clean -maybe with a second supplied set of covers, make sure these are easily available and inexpensive to replace for fresh tenants - think ikea !!

You could have almost any colour sofa in such a neutral room, but I think a charcoal grey will not mind the odd spilt drink etc. It will go well with your wall colour. The sofas need to be enough to suit the number of people who will be living in it. It looks a good size room so I would choose either two 3-seaters or one 2-seater and one 3-seater, but of course it depends if they will fit. I would measure out sofas you like in the actual room to ensure a good fit. Oh and make sure they are comfortable :-)

It all depends on the mood you want the room to have. A few options here: white is always the safe option to go with charcoal grey or have a look at the colours French Grey 113 or Mono 218 from Little Greene. However, if you would like bold options you can also go for a burgundy or Carys 148 colour from Little Greene. The last two would also work in your room if it receives loads of natural light.

We can recommend the Candle Light Paint from Valspar (they can mix it for you at b&q). Then you can add yellow velvet cushions on a grey/ light blue sofa? Have a look at sofa.com and Loaf. They do sofas in the colour tone you are looking for. Carpet colour in beige would look chic and you won't get bored of it as it will allow you to be a bit more playful with furniture and cushions.
