what colour paint/sofas to go with this fabric?

we are doing an extension for a lounge and I've chosen a Voyage fabric 'Clovelly Raspberry Slate' for the curtains... any recommendations on what colour paint for the walls, what colour sofas and what colour carpet? thanks :) I am getting 2 of g'mas old Parker knoll fireside chairs upholstered in the other fabrics shown below...

Hi rhoskitchen,

I dare say I would go with a very light grey, or cream, or ivory, or beige carpet. Walls can be any neutral colour that would then tie up the curtains and floors and walls. You could then inject some colour by having the sofa in a colour which is on the curtain fabric and accessorizing with either a contrast or matching colour for the cushions.

Love those fabrics! The colours you choose depend on the room and your own tastes. I think you could pick any colour out of those fabrics. If you like grey then pick a blue-based grey. I'm a big fan of Dulux's Cotton Breeze which is a pale blue-grey violet that would go well. Alternatively you could go with an off-white, or a pink, but not a cream - it could look dated.

Hi. You've used neutral colours so anything will work with them really. If you want a leather sofa maybe go for chocolate and then add an accent colour, various shades of blue and raspberry work well. If you want fabric maybe try a duck egg. Or stick to neutrals and then add an accent (if you want a colour) .What are your favourite colours?

I would say the green of that sofa is much more mossy and olive than jewel green - in my eyes. I would add nice earthy tones myself. It does, as said above, definitely depend on the flooring in the room and the other materials - as well as the overall style. But...I would be looking at something like Slipper Satin, Book Room Green or Portland Stone. As with all our clients, we always try all samples together (flooring, metals, walls and fabrics) together and it's important these are tested in the space they will eventually live - as the light in your room will be unique to that room. Hi! The most efficient way to coordinate with these beautiful fabrics would be to ‘measure’ your favourite colours within them with a Color Muse. It would give detailed attributes for each colour, including hue family, value, chroma and LRV. Using this data it’s possible to find the nearest paint colour matches to your favourite colour, lighter or darker versions of it, or colours to harmonise with it.
Takes soooo much of the pfaff & guess out the process!

Very pretty fabric. The background grey of the curtains would make a lovely wall colour. I don’t think you need anything bolder as the fabrics are quite bold. A pale grey carpet would be a nice neutral. I think you could go quite bold, if you dare, with the sofa though - bright green or teal, or pink. I think the Parker Knolls would look great in a bold velvet, but if that’s too much then a muted grey will still look great and you can liven them up with colourful cushions. Here’s some ideas, but I couldn’t find many images of curtains like yours with a sofa!
