Water feature

Can you tell me more about this fountain? Where is the pump for service? What maintenance is involved? How do you know when it needs more water? Are there mosquito abatement issues?
It's really lovely.

Hello Meg. Glad to hear you like the water feature. It is pretty easy to maintain. The pump and reservoir (will need to be topped up every now and again as it is not connected to the mains water supply) are located underneath the pebbles which are held in place over a metal grid.

I love this colour but think that you won't notice the dark kitchen cabinets. To make your existing furniture stand out I think you need contrast. I think the earlier suggestion of orange is fun but to include the Brinjal I would paint the walls green and then add pops of the brinjal. Perhaps if you get some light picture frame add a border of brinjal to give them more presence. Alternatively hang inexpensive canvasses - I would choose three long thin ones and paint one and either wall paper in a similar colour or staple on fabric to add pattern.

Assuming there is an internal room behind it wouldn't be possible to install the water blade into the wall itself for two reasons; you require quite a substantial depth to accommodate the unit and it needs to be accessible for maintenance. Perhaps there is a solution to extending the wall above the eaves to combat the above, but I would be extremely cautious about having continuous water running down a wall.

I don't think the lime white works well with your paving but either of the others would be good. I quite like the one that's similar to your paving - depends whether you want to make a feature of the rendered wall with the darker colour or keep the wall similar to the paving & let your water feature stand out.
