Victorian open plan living/dining room layout ideas please!!
Comments (5)Holly, not a bad dialema and what great spaces you have to play with! There are so many options for you here. I have worked on these type of properties for over 9 years and I always provide the same advice to a client. You will need to consider how you want to use the space/the environment that you want to create in order to determine where you will place the furniture. Key elements such as how you intend to travel through the property, what is practical for you, how your family spend their time at home etc. will all dictate the interior configuration. For example, some of my clients would look to create a formal reception room at the front of the property, introducing a door from the hallway. They would then utilise the second reception room as a play/TV area, library, piano space or even insert the kitchen within this zone and create a very large open plan dining/entertainment space (large sofa/TV area) at the rear, directly connected to the garden. As you can see there are so many points to consider. Have you thought about appointing a team to assist you with the space planning/visualising how it could look?...See MoreSmall living/dining room furniture layout advise needed please
Comments (2)Personally, I think corner sofas really restrict positioning and getting 2 gives you a lot more flexibility. Re the radiators, I would try and avoid putting any behind the sofa on the right hand side as the sofa will soak up lots of the heat. Instead I would suggest going for a vertical model instead and putting it to the side of the French doors. Give me a call on 01274 515734 if you need some advice regarding heat outputs, etc....See MoreIdeas for kitchen/living/dining room please?
Comments (2)Hi there! This current room layout actually looks like the best use of space to maximise storage and your worktop space. Have you considered an island instead of a peninsular worktop? The island could sit in the middle of the space at approximately 2m X 1.2m. This would be more of a feature and would create a more sociable space. Another thing to consider is curved worktops and a curved corner unit on the right hand side. This will create a better flow within the kitchen and the curved corners will be toddler friendly! We hope this helps....See MoreLiving room and dining room advice
Comments (22)The Persian rug is lovely. We have several (sitting room, study, hall, bedroom ..... they're a bit addictive), with fabric using a couple of the colours in each for stuff like cushions, curtains etc. with neutral walls. I agree with minnie about the patterns. To get the right colour combinations, at a reasonable price, you could find a company that does a range with the colour or colours you're looking for and then look for remnants on ebay, to get them at bargain prices. That's worked well for us. Stuff like this:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Schumacher-Curtain-Fabric-PASHA-PAISLEY-2m-POMEGRANATE-100-WOOL-/322509242456?hash=item4b170c8058:g:DwsAAOSw42JZAwWm And if you're looking for another rug to complement the one you've got, www.carpetu2.co.uk has a massive range on-line, at better prices than I've been able to find here. They're actually in Greece, but don't charge for shipping, which is very fast....See MoreLeo Leo
