Is this en suite too narrow for a bath? We really want a bath over a s
Comments (15)As OnePlan says, layout works & not being greeted by a wc is a bonus! Get the lighting right & it won't be a problem not having a window. I would recommend having lighting switched separately as well as extractor fan, with secondary lighting for when you may need to use the wc in the night etc & don't want to be blinded by the main lights - wall lights or LEDs at low level under vanity unit, left wall & right wall from end of bath to wc for example. Invest in a mirrored cabinet with integrated lighting & shaver socket & would recommend a large mirror on the left wall to make the room feel more spacious. We have fitted a mirror from ikea several times on previous projects, 2m x 80cm for £80. Regarding tile choice I wouldn't be to concerned about the finish of the tile if your lighting is right. I have gone with the same tile for both walls & floor in ensuite & small bathrooms which helps the room feel bigger. Whites & neutral tones are always a winner in smaller spaces. Hope the above helps & good luck with your project, put up some photos once you have completed it! Regards Karl...See MoreEnsuite missed the mark
Comments (35)I wouldn't waste time repainting it; I like it and, as so many others have said, think it looks flat because it's not jazzed up with accessories. I'd use bolder towels - single colour in contrasting colours - and have bigger towels out. Put something interesting on the walls - ceramic works well in a bathroom and, again, bold colours. Others have suggested plants which I agree with. It just need accents. The floor colour ties in with the surface so I think you could get away with keeping it - you can draw the eye away from it with a dramatic bathmat or rug or similar - it's got to be easy clean/wash as it will get a lot of use. It needs tweaking, not major change....See MoreTeeny tiny ensuite! What would you do?
Comments (14)With a space this small, the less the better. And some small changes will make a great difference. Look into getting a por designer in on this, it can make a huge difference. First, remove the: cabinet above the toilet cabinet? next to the toilet hooks above the toilet glass shelf towel rail on the wall Move the toilet brush to the side of the bin. Add: a few long, narrow floating shelves above the toilet (for something decorative, & maybe some spare toilet paper, also help widen the space visually) A longer, prefferably framed mirror Then some bigger changes: a long basin, as narrow as comfortable, Store as much as possible in the vanity beneath Look at new light fixtures. Even bigger changes: Will you be redoing the shower, tiling, etc? That great height also accentuated the narrowness of the space. A few horizontal lines to coulter this would help. If you posted plans here, someone might have an idea to expand the space....See MoreHelp with bathroom layout needed please.
