if you extend the upper landing to meet the wall opposite then you don't have enough space for the stairs to go from the lower landing to the extended upper landing.
what you may be able to do is to have another door on the upper landing if there is enough space. Maybe you can consider a sliding door.
Hi, You could alter the mid landing to have a kite in each corner and a step in the middle, \I/ something like that. Then you would loose three steps from the upper flight meaning you can move the door three steps further over. Its a lot of work though just to move a door and you would still have smells from the bathroom. Could the bathroom extract fan be upgraded to improve on the ventilation?
