some help with extractor fan ducting in kitchen to be fitted this week

Hello,
We are having our kitchen fitted on Saturday and unfortunately we were not aware that the new location of the extractor fan will not actually extract the air out of the room as the vent is on the wall next to it (a bit silly of us I know, when I actually think about it) but we are 1st time buyers and 1st kitchen.
Anyway would be great if we could get some advice as to what to do with the long ugly tube that now needs to go across the kitchen to connect to the vent. I don’t want cupboards on that side (with the idea being to cover the tube) as my plan was to keep the beautiful high Georgian ceilings on that side of the kitchen and build up on the other side, as it’s so small.
Image below to clarify the red square is where the vent is. Thank you!
