Hi Tacey, The clean white form of the kitchen looks lovely, its a nice room. You definitely need lights above the wall units, this will bounce off the ceiling and into the room. At the risk of being too direct, throw the green paint away, you don't need it.. If you want colour in this room use the glass display cabinet and put some beautiful coloured glass in there. I sometimes put Japanese inspired flower arrangements on the middle of islands to add a modern structure and punch some colour in. The advantage to both of these methods is that you can change the colour scheme when ever you like. One idea that would transform the room: Put an American shutter up on the window. White with wide 80mm slats. Make sure the slat control is concealed, don't let them sell you a shutter with that awful rod down the middle. This will look amazing in this room. If you really fancy being adventurous mirror the window wall around the shutters above the splash back. You will need to make templates and have the mirror cut to those to ensure a perfect fit. Visually the room will double in size as your eye is tricked into seeing the furniture repeated as a reflection. I know it sounds a little "out there" but I have done this on many occasions and it works amazingly well. Hope that helps, Martin - www.angel-martin.com

I have specified it on numerous projects Minnie101 with great, long lasting results (although make sure you apply it right, don't skimp or skip corners with this stuff, it will show..) Long lasting and very "traditional' feel with low VOC. Hand painting works best - if you are painting yourself look up how the old-school dudes paint as this is what looks best and totally high-end. Hi Gabby..same here.. taken me weeks to make up my mind, now I can't get it.. Forest green I think would be perfect. I'm doing the chimney breast in my bedroom Forest green and ceiling and other walls very pale green,, ( it tones ) Then a large white mirror above the white headboard.. Hope it works, it does in my mind. Just need the paint.

Hi Tani. Mmmm. Mixing colours by hand can be tricky in large quantities which is why I suggested taking a small sample of your existing paint first and and seeing how other colours change it. For sampling you can use any acrylic paint (acrylic has similar properties to emulsion) as you’re just trying to identify which colour you need for mixing, could be other tester pots, kids acrylic paints, artists acrylics etc. but when doing the final mix I would use the same brand and finish paint. In theory (and from memory) to make a dark navy blue lighter and warmer you’d need more of a dirty peach colour then add this to the navy at approx 1 part peach to 10 navy then add more if needed. All a matter of trying and testing. Having said all this it may be possible to sell the paint you have now (after all navy is popular atm) and get another colour.
