Comments (14)I wouldn't paint the fencing white - if its a sun trap I think it will bounce the light and be so so blindingly bright! - it also shows all the dirt - we have a white picket fence and it needs repainting so often =( I would be temped to paint the fencing a green or grey colour and cover with trellis and pretty climbers. Or I've seen lovely wood fencing which silvers over time - it would be a bit softer than brilliant white. Re slabs - Look on ebay - we have had lovely slate slabs off their before. =D or reclamation yards. You could have a paved sitting area AND pebbled area with plants. Do you want any height to the plants to add privacy or a bit of shade? I think I'd be tempted to have a tree in a HUGE pot or some bamboo...See MoreDesign Dilemma: Feature wall in this girly girl room. Pink or grey?
Comments (4)I think it depends as well on what seating option you're going for in terms of the balance of colour. I personally love the white sofa with the bed and the throw. This paper is from Cole and son, it also comes in a soft grey and a subtle neutral which work well with blush. The stars will also go with the chevrons. I don't think this paper really ages, I'd quite happily have it now although I'm sure my husband wouldn't! I've also added a pic of a teepee from Ella James as they're so cute for kids rooms and can obviously be removed once outgrown :)...See MoreColour dilemma - grey walls with cream/pink brick slips
Comments (6)For your information, F&B Skimming stone has a Lightness of 85.25 (out of a 100). A Chroma of 6.154, which indicates it is a near neutral. And a Hue Angle of 88.21° So it sits close to the centre of the Yellow Hue Family. Useful if you need to partner it with other near neutrals or even more colourful colours. You can use the geometry of the Wheel to create harmonies. Were you to find that Skimming Stone felt a little to yellow next to your pinkish brick, the strategy would be to find something with a similar Lightness & Chroma, but move the Hue Angle anti-clockwise nearer towards the Yellow-Red Hue Family. But I hope your colour dilemma works out fine & this is knowledge to tuck away until you need it again. 🌈...See MoreWhite or pink curtains in room with dark furniture and sage green wall
Comments (4)My daughter had shutters fitted at great expense and I found they made their room dark, I know people loke them, but I dont! If you want to buy curtains that will last when you change the colour of your walls, go for plain off white/ reamcream/linen, in a good quality material. Patterned curtains matching your present colour scheme can tie you to the same colour scheme if you fancy a change, unless you like getting new cheaper curtains regularly, I’d stick to plain, good quality off white, decent quality is worth paying for, it works out cheaper in the end!...See MoreSam Potter
