We often leave the drawers in larders unpainted to give it a classic, warm look with stunning oak on display.

If you are looking for a colour, you could pair it with a calming grey or white that would really compliment the navy, or go bold with a brighter colour like pictured here and make it pop. We have seen lots of bright oranges in larders that look great!

Pumice and Duck Egg Blues are timeless. Personally I love some of the darker grey-blue tones which are so popular at the moment and, I'm sure, will stand the test of time. Remember colour is a curious and complex thing. A swatch will never really do it justice, and one colour will look very different depending on how matte/glossy it is. The same paint will also look very different depending on the surface it is painted on! Hi, Little Greene Paints have recently launched their Blue collection. http://www.littlegreene.com/blog/the-blue-collection/ It would be worth taking a look at their dock blue, royal navy, woad, Hicks blue etc. I have used Little Greene paint on a number of projects and the finish is excellent. Both the absolute matt and intelligent matt emulsion look great and the pigment will give a rich, luxurious finish. Good luck;-)

I am from the school that a handle is a handle whether on a drawer or door. But picking the right one would make all the difference.
