I helped my Dad build a fire pit in his garden, he made wooden seats to sit around the metal fire pit with old stone columns for extra seating (unfortunately you can't see the actual fire-pit as behind the stone bench). Lots of stories and fun are had around it until deep into the night. If you have the space it is a great addition to put in! Shannon

I'm amazed at all the negative comments. All three of my Smeg appliances (dishwasher, fridge-freezer and washing machine) work fine and look great. The only downside on the fridge-freezer is that it is not a 'frost-free' freezer, so I have to defrost it once a year. The fridge is huge. The washing machine is fairly small capacity, but we are a family of three, so that's fine. The dishwasher is the best dishwasher I've ever had, with really good, metal racks. When I start my next house project (I want to self-build), I will probably buy the same again.

Lights which automatically turn on when I enter a room (especially in the kitchen and in the hallway from the bedroom to the bathroom) and lights inside my wardrobes (especially inside the one in the bedroom: I often get up earlier than my hubby, and it may be still dark outside, and I don't want to wake him up while I'm looking for my stockings).

A very handsome house! - It's not so much the roof you have to worry about matching colours to, it's the red brick, as not soo many go with that. It's a big area to be painted, so you have to be sure it's going to look right. I'd probably err on the side of not painting it anything other than white and changing the window colour instead. Google colour bonding - it colours UPVC windows pretty much any colour and is a fraction of the cost of replacing windows. The front of our house is 'tyrolene'd' but the rest is red brick. We went for a sage colour. I'd be inclined to stick with the white, or render the whole house and paint one colour with possibly a slight shade change for the darker at the bottom. The downpipes need addressing on the gutter as they're a messy set up and spoil the facade. Try using the Dulux Paint a room:- https://www.dulux.ca/diy/colour/colour-visualizer it's a handy tool!
