9'3x4'5ft skinny bathroom! What would you do?
Comments (15)Thank you everyone! chantelle- I love the design but thinking more brass/gold than silver. Definitely liking the picture rail and chandelier though! Alison- clever use of space there! Love the dark colouring. Headsters- loving the photo and definitely the sort of look I'm thinking. Where did you get the vanity from? Really nice. inga! Your such a tease! (((Sob sob))) love the photos, well all of them aside from the one that I have the space for. :( i should seriously just consider just getting a shower as I know this will look better then cramming a bath in but with a toddler and a concern for resale (especially due to prime school catchment) I am hesitant. Mirrors are a great idea and I do like the shape of the bath in last photo- traditional vibe. if you feel my pain for the bathroom situation then you will be even more saddened to know the kitchen dimensions! lets just say I had better not put on any weight as I may get lodged in cabinet to wall! any ideas on antique looking vanity units and gold brass looking taps would be appreciated. thanks so much to all x...See MoreDo you think? Comments (11)I think size-wise you'd struggle - unless you use second bedroom for storage/dressing room. Your main bedroom is similar size to mine and I opted for larger family bathroom rather than 2 tiny rooms for sake of ensuite. Another consideration will be where plumbing/drainage is currently running, as this will cause major upheaval to re-route. Comments (5)Hello Pelagia, I must say I love concrete and it works in both kitchens and bathrooms beautifully! Textured or smooth. Plaster too is an absolute favourite as is terrazzo and all would work together. I would like to suggest these ideas which I think compliment. The other thing of course is to consider how you can carry concrete throughout to create a seamless home. So it forms a coherent material language if you will. It doesn't have to be in large ways it could be in the form of accessories, for example. This first image is mine and includes walls, flooring and worktop to compliment what is actually brass cabinetry with some mid century brass table/chairs and Murano glass. The idea behind it is to create a room in its own right. That is less "kitcheny" in visual appearance and more a functioning beautiful space that you could entertain in as much as you could cook in. Size being key here, of course. You could add concrete shelving etc but I have left the scheme as is to fit the aesthetic. This is just one half of a much larger room but you get the idea. This second I found on the web. I am not partial to mirrored cabinetry but the bathroom has lovely qualities which I think compliment my kitchen design. Some ideas for you to consider. Beautiful accessories and natural earthy elements compliment wonderfully as do a mix of materials, wood, slate and stone. Either way, enjoy what you decide. Comments (4)Hi Faye, this is an interesting one, than you for posting! If the house was mine, I would investigate to see whether the walls can be moved. If this could be an option I would think of extending the left bathroom wall so I could move the bathroom where your kitchen currently is, so I could have a bigger kitchen (inclusive of utility room). i this way the bathroom will be accessible from the corridor. please let me know if this makes sense! Thank you, Ketty...See Morelspendl 828
