Design Dilemma Living Rooms

Living room layout

We have a blank canvas but not sure where to place sofa/chairs etc. There is an aerial for TV placement on the chimney breast so far. Wall colour is F&B Wevet throughout with some F&B Railings and Cornforth White. Flooring light oak laminate. Style modern contemporary (I guess). Any suggestions would be really appreciated!

As others have said, I'd go for some kind of storage on that right-hand side wall, either some kind of shelving unit/sideboard or modular shelving (e.g IKEA). On the other side, where it looks like you have a radiator, I'd go for a chair and coffee/side table - gives you another seating area and is also moveable if you need some space or an additional chair for an occasion - but you could choose not to do this if you want the room to be more of a playroom. Here's a couple of example renders using the measurements on your floorplan. I've also added a green feature wall in both "sub-rooms" of the living space to tie them together, and some additional shelving in the main living room space. I have created a floor plan with measurements (hope the picture is clear). The room is 6.97 x 4m, the entrance door is a little inside, so the room is not a perfect rectangle. There is a window (1.5m), a fireplace next to it (1.4m) and a sliding door leading to the garden (2.25m) The sofa we have is a corner sofa plus a 3 seater, in total it is 4.11x2.84m. We can replace the sofas in future. But not immediately. The book case is movable (they are ikea book cases). We are thinking of making the wall with book case, into a TV wall unit (so tv will move from corner to centre of that wall). The TV is 65inch, so wouldn't fit above the fire place and even if it did the distance between sofa and TV would be very less.

Thank you Marina. This is really helpful. I guess with separate sofas we can move things around.
