It is concrete, we used Douglas Fir panels to shuttering to pour the concrete that left us with this texture.

Hi, I would say it all depends on the style and look you are trying to achieve. If it's the contemporary look you are after, I would opt for a light grey or off-white/grey colours; if you want a more warm touch I'd go for creams or light brown, taupe colour or if your after a luxury feel of go for champagne sort of colour or a mix between cream and grey, not too sure what you'd call it. Alternatively you could use white paint which has a tinge of colour mixed in so it can look clean and bright and the same time, not too clinical. Good luck and all the best

Hi Alexi It is like a sealant you use it in a sealant gun. I used the yellow frogtape to mask up, then used the 'sealant' after I had finished. Take the tape off as soon as you've done. The only mistake I made was using a stain on the stairs that took 24 hours to dry which meant I could only do every other stair as bathroom is upstairs!. Have added a before pic.

We have a similar dilemma and have decided to go for kitchen safe laminate and lay it ourselves. We spoke to a builder who helped us on another job last Summer and he said Howdens laminate is good - though you'd need access to a trade account to buy it. Perhaps you have a contact from your previous work who can help you with that. We enjoy a DIY challenge and can't justify the LVT price tag right now - although if we could then we would go for LVT. I wanted to comment because I noticed your price estimates for Karndean. When we had our LVT quote, the fitter was able to source the Karndean flooring we wanted at around half the price that I'd seen in various places online which meant it came in at around £15 per meter which is cheaper than quickstep. So if you're having the floor screeded anyway (which is a big part of the cost)... perhaps worth talking to a fitter to see what they can do which might save you some money on the LVT to make it more justifiable. I had this myself recently - I ended up I did go with a wooden table - a vintage one with multiple shades so it would still contrast and not look too much/samey. I also put a jute rug beneath mine and once you dress the top with a runner and a plant/vase etc it looks great. Alternatively white always works and I love concrete but expensive - concrete resin - metal can also be a good option - I wouldn't go with glass - I feel it's dated.
