Hi All, I am hoping someone can help me!!!!!!! I recently painted my kitchen units in F&b Cornforth White. I am looking for a colour to compliment on the walls. I don't have a main wall as such i'm painting as going to feature brick effect paper...I have 2 large double sliding doors that open into the sitting room. I have testers of Worsted, but thinking it could be very dark. (the splashback will be coming down) i'm undecided on to go dark or light - plus painter coming tomorrow!!!! Kitchen units F&b Cornforth White doors into sitting room the left is Worsted and right is winter truffle (dulux I think)!

The greys I had chosen ( before trying a sample) was farrow and ball cornforth white for the kitchen and fb purbeck stone for the open dining room cupboards. I've had over £35 of samples and have now decided on farrow and ball All White for the kitchen and Matt Dakkar ( it's a grey pale olive) for the floor to ceiling dining room cupboards which will have oak running through them . I'll try to put the kitchen design photos on . Minnie 101, the floor is being laid next week , it's semi honed forest limestone . The kitchen is west facing with a small window , the grey looked too drab . The dining room is south facing and gets the sun, there are steps down into the kitchen and the sun doesn't really reach it . I was thinking of having a mirror splash back under the hob hood as this will face the small window and reflect some light back ? ive seen some lovely white cottage/country kitchens on here and hope to pinch some ideas. I only have till the end of next week to decide. I've really had far too long to make a choice as I've changed my mind so many times and have gone back to my original choice! I will put photos on of the floor in progress next week .

Fabulous ideas everyone, keep them coming:-) Carolina, my first thought was also a mirror, maybe an antique style one. Definitely something to think about. Minnie101, I love your inspiration as always, love the blue cameo box image, will definitely test out some decoupage on the little bedside cabinet. To all, must say I’m not much for chalk paint, never liked the feel of it although you can get some good effects plus you can always varnish/wax over it. Just feel for this piece I neeeed colour! Our hallway can get rather gloomy at the best of times (north facing with only the door for daylight). I do love natural wood but the cabinet, although nicely shaped is just cheap pine and not the best quality. I didn’t pay much for it so feel justified in painting it. Emily, i’ll probably get the Land Rover enamel paint just because I want to see how it compares to standard gloss, watch this space! Here’s my inspo pic for hallway although ours hasn’t got the side bit round the stairs, it’s slightly wider and we need storage for bike and shoes etc.

Sorry, I am a bit late to this party! So, if you did not already have the primer, I would have said speak to me! Paint has been really well developed so you do not need oil based anymore, you can get waterbased paint that is tried and tested for kitchen cabinets now.
