wall colour for kitchen diner

we are just having our kitchen diner re tiled in an oak effect floor tile.

I would like to introduce a feature wall. Which wall should it be? the first photos are the kitchen and our accessories. the last is the blue colour I like.

which wall would you use it on. do you know the closest farrow and ball match to that colour.

what colour should we use for the other walls.

Thanks so much - after a long road we are hoping to have it decorated in Monday!

If you look on STORIES above, someone has painted their dining area Farrow & Balls De Nimes and it looks fantastic. See what you think.

I have painted wooden kitchen units like this in green-grey (I think the colour is a match to F&B French Grey) http://www.benchmarxkitchens.co.uk/Kitchens/Kitchen-Ranges/Borrowdale and oak worktops, with a fairly tile effect floor. The kitchen is quite large and light, it faces South. I chose Slipper Satin, which in theory should look great. But it doesn't. It looks cold and rather unfriendly. I don't have many wall units (too many windows/doors etc) so there is quite a lot of empty wall space and the colour looks a bit clinical and insipid in that space (I have used it elsewhere with the same aspect and it looks great). We use the room a lot and I'd like it to feel like a welcoming family space. I think the wall colour needs to be a little darker and muddier if that makes sense.... I don't have time to get loads of testers so any recommendations would be great. So far I am pondering Old White or Bone by F&B or Welcome or any of the French Greys by Little Greene but I haven't used any of them before....

Your colour scheme sounds lovely and by the looks of it, the project is coming along really well! The best way to consider how much grey to use is probably to consider lighting (daytime and in the evening). If you have lots of natural sunlight and artificial lighting for the evening then I'm sure you're onto a winner with the grey! Good luck!

I love a feature wall, but it does look fab all around, doesn’t it? I would still get a sample pot just to make sure because light is everything with colour, and I would imagine it can look rather grey in a north facing room, but from what I remember the room is south facing? Good luck!

@sonia yes we are south facing. it's how it would look behind the kitchen cupboards, which are grey gloss. I think it looks fab all round but they have a divider between kitchen and dining area.

I had wondered about doing 2 walls the wall opposite the windows (which extends to the tall bank of cupboards but doesn't have too much wall so you wouldn't have too much of a problem if it doesn't quite work and then use shadow white for the patio wall side.

my mum reckons that won't work as you don't normally do 2 adjoining feature walls.
