We were contracted by a high end, London based building firm who were renovating a mansion in Mayfair. After several meetings with the client we eventually came up with a custom travertine blend, which replicated the sort of colour and styles found abroad in Greece or Italy. With Microcement wetrooms its all about the preparation. Firstly we apply a rubber tanking layer embedded into a fibreglass mesh and then three layers of microcement. The floors are fully fibreglassed with epoxy resin to ensure our bathrooms remain leak and maintenance free for years to come. The client was over the moon with the end product and we were extremely happy with how it all came together.

Hi Senspasce and thank you my husband works for a large tile manufacturer and the tiles where purchased on slight seconds and a great tiler who works all over the world did the tiling beautifully. The design was copied from the company brochure so I knew it was foolproof design in its day which was over 20yrs ago so not done so bad really certainly had my moneys worth. The window is very heavily obsurced glass with leaded design so does not need blinds which cannot be fitted as casement to window is not deep enough I have had curtain treatment on expandable rod but like the light and openness. I prefer a bath we use to have shower on bracket with a shower curtain when I had new mixer and taps I did away with them to open the room up and getaway from water mold building up we use bath mat on floor when showering and not a problem with no screen a lot less cleaning too never a problem without them.

Hello, although I'm not posting a comment regarding layout, I'm wondering if you've considered microcement as a waterproof, seamless surface as an alternative to tiles or splash panelling? Because our microcement does not need any joins I think this would trick the eyes into making the space appear larger. the costs quoted are way to expenisve. I appreciate you may be in business to make a profit but the prices quoted are verging on extortion. Greed is not a good thing, so give then a real cost and not something that pays for the next fast car you desire!! you can lay it yourself with a bit of practice and the cost of materials will give you several attempts to improve rather than give your money away to the greedy pros!

I think that one of the problems with this small bathroom is that it's broken into many elements, making the space appear even smaller. The slope is very sculptural but spoiled by the style of window. Would you consider replacing the window with a full pane of glass in a casement or awning style opening? I'd also recommend either removing the tongue and groove boarding and skimming the wall or replacing the boards with T & G that extend from the floor to the ceiling. I'd remove the tiles and replace with T & G as well. Also, to unify the space, remove the ceiling tiles, which look like polystyrene, and the coving to simplify the overall appearance. A paler tint of the blue-green and a simpler window film in a foggy texture will allow more light to enter the room.

Hi T Gray, yes, I thought of that, but wouldn’t it be better to spend time coming up with useful or otherwise interesting comments? Particularly as a ‘Pro’.

Now it’s just quantity over quality.
