What colour should I paint my front door and garage - 1930s House
Comments (43)I think your instinct is spot on - the grey does not go with your lovely house at all! You said yourself, 'the grey craze', why follow the herd? Perhaps you should question why you want a 'contemporary colour' instead of one of the many choices which will enhance your beautiful period house. You don't see lovely pink Suffolk cottages, or the black and white half timbered houses characteristic of some areas daubed with grey because it's the latest fad....See More1930s front door advice please
Comments (14)Hi Rebecca Your door is beautiful, you could get a like for like replacement in timber painted any colour you like and keep a circular window. We have replicated stain glass for previous customers in a double glazed unit which looks fantastic and is toughened glass so it's safe and warm. Otherwise you could look at other 1930's styles. You could go with quite a strong colour on your house which would look great against the white. let us know what you decide on....See More1930’s front door colour
Comments (20)I don’t think you should be restricted by the colour of the stained glass. What colours have you painted the interior of your home? What is your favourite colour? The front door should reflect your personality and you will then love walking up to it every day. We have an Edwardian stained glass front door with red , blue, yellow, greens and pink glass in. The door is painted F&B railings because it’s one of my favourite colours. My kitchen island unit is painted the same colour. Good luck deciding- don’t go for yellow though if you don’t like it straight away!...See MorePaint interior 1930 doors?

By the way, the colour was much the same before varnishing. I keep dithering whether to paint my sitting room one or not, so it remains au natural for now. Decisions, decisions!...See MoreJanet Cohen
