Blinds? For kitchen/dining room

See kitchen pics attached. Had not really thought of window dressing as we are not overlooked. We are planning a couple or just 1)small armchairs by the bay window. I think Roman blinds can look nice. Measurements are inside recess as shown. Gaps of 18cm between inside recesses. Thought or suggestions?

Walks white, units charcoal, worktop white. Thinking navy armchair.

I love top down bottom up blinds for bay windows. Plain white, I'd say.

I agree with many of the suggestions above, especially that there's too much furniture in the living room. You're going to hate me for saying this but I think there's too much clutter and busyness overall for such a small space. I'd radically reduce the number of pictures and knick-knacks in both rooms – especially the living room – and move the ones you keep to less prominent places. I'd also take the coat rack and cookery bookshelves out completely, and replace the busy parquet flooring with either not-busy plank laminate or a simple-patterned or solid rug. Finally, I like trees but that spidery palm tree is hideous IMO.

Hi there, As others have said, it much depends how you use your kitchen. Lots of our customers do choose Roman blinds for their kitchens as they like the softness they provide - but you must think about things like splashes from sinks as well as cooking smells. One thing others have suggested is Wooden blinds. Fauxwood blinds are the perfect solution for kitchens - they look like wood, but they won't warp in steamy conditions and are really easy to wipe clean. Good luck with your search, Zoe

Hi Jay, we agree that a golden oak could clash with your walnut worktop. But think you could still go for an oak with lighter or ashen tones. The shades below are understated so would be great for flowing through multiple rooms too. And of course, as they're lighter floors they'd help to keep your spaces feeling nice and open. Agree with bottom up blinds. Much as I love Roman blinds, they will hide that lovely feature glass.

I love Roman Blinds as they do cosy up a room and dress up a window beautifully. Of course they will cover up some of your stained glass windows. I prefer a pattern on Romans, even just a simple trellis style lifts it. Here’s some ideas, maybe in a darker charcoal?
