Advice on my small bedroom
Comments (22)I would suggest going for the plain reddish/pink throw with the rose/floral pattern cushion. Keep it to just those colours as you don't want it to look too mismatched as that could give your small room a cluttered feel. To add some glamour easily, I would recommend more lighting in the form of some candles and also perhaps some fairy lights around the window would add something extra to the window alcove....See MoreBedroom dilemma
Comments (3)It's a great size and I love the idea of grey. Why not paint the two recessed areas a darker grey to make them appear deeper. Maybe Farrow and ball, Purbeck Stone 275 for the recesses and the rest of the walls Ammonite 274. This will make it feel much more light and airy and create some more interest. I think the furniture looks fine where it is. Make sure the bed is central between the door and the window. I would then make a feature of the chimney breast. Either add a photo wall or a large mirror, or series of smaller different sized mirrors to add inetrest and bounce the light around. Then some artwork above the bed to introduce as splash of colour. If you could stretch to it a light grey carpet or painted floor boards would finish it off! Hope that helps, good luck...See MoreBedroom wardrobe dilemma- help design storage
Comments (7)Hi, not sure why the alcove near the bed can’t have ceiling height wardrobes? Are you worried that the wardrobe will hit the bed, is that the problem? Maybe sliding doors would be better? I had fitted wardrobes installed by Sharpes, and the salesman was really helpful in configurating how it should all fit, including an awkward stair box area. He really knew his stuff. Am very pleased with the wardrobes, all built bespoke by an amazing carpenter. We were very impressed! Hopefully you will get lots of advice on here, and maybe you should get some companies/carpenters in to measure and quote. Mine cost just over £3000 for 6 and a half doors, rails, shelving etc....See MoreBedroom layout advice
Comments (14)Using the alcoves for your wardrobes is a traditional layout but one that works. I can't make out the room dimensions but it should give you space to have your dressing table left of the window (if you're looking at the window) which will let you make the most of natural light when getting ready. You may fine that what is currently the chimney breast will actually become a recess as I think your wardrobes will come out beyond the middle wall so you could add shelving here or create a feature on the wall with photos and/or prints or hang a large mirror. again, I can't see the measurements but if it fits another option would be to have your bed between the wardrobes and have a headboard that also works as a shelf in place of night stands. Hope that helps! Good luck with your revamp!...See MoreOnePlan
